Your Voice Matters.

Every Sky River Team Member deserves to have their voice heard when deciding whether to form a union.

Unite Here has not yet agreed to a secret ballot election. A secret ballot would let every Sky River team member vote on whether they want a union.

 

They have been able to agree to an election since September 2023.

 

Now, more than two years later, team members are still waiting, and no one knows when a decision will be made.

Instead of holding signs, let’s hold an election.

Under the Tribal Labor Relations Ordinance (TLRO), Unite Here must follow TWO simple steps to be recognized: 

1.

The union conducts a card check where a majority (50 percent plus one) of eligible employees under the TLRO’s description acknowledge that they want to have a union representation.

2.

Once a majority card check is confirmed, the union agrees to participate in a secret ballot election under the TLRO where a majority of all eligible employees have their voices heard. If a majority (50 percent plus one vote) of all eligible Team Members who are employed by Sky River, not just those present at the time of voting, vote in favor of forming a union through the secret ballot election, then the union becomes recognized by the tribe and bargaining can begin.
